XP and WIN7 LAN shared setting solution

The network function of WIN7 system has been further enhanced than XP, and it is relatively clear to use. However, due to a lot of surface optimization work, the underlying network settings have become very unsuitable for people who are accustomed to XP systems, and the establishment of a local area network is a big problem. After installing the system by default, not only can the WIN7 systems in the same group share access to each other, but the most troublesome problem is that the XP system computers in the group are more difficult to access each other. In response to this problem, I collected some information from the network, combined with my own situation in the debugging process, through the following steps can basically solve the problem of XP and WIN7 LAN sharing settings. If you don't see it, please understand and correct it.

One: the necessary point

1. An account with administrator rights is required

2. All computers connected to the network must be in the same IP segment, such as 192.168.1.X (2≤X≤255)

3. All computers connected to the network must be in the same workgroup, for example, all in the WORKGROUP group

4. All computers connected to the Internet must open a guest account. The default account name is gueST.

5. Close any third-party firewall software, or make some related settings (very important). Windows comes with a firewall. If it is not turned off, some settings are required. Open the Windows firewall --- exceptions --- check file and printer sharing --- OK --- save. For XP systems, in the General tab, remove the check from the box that does not allow exceptions.

6. The operating system of all computers connected to the network must have the correct permission settings (this is the focus)

7. XP refers to Windows XP ProfessiONal version. Some of the methods described in it do not apply to Windows XP Home EdiTIon.

8. WIN7 refers to Windows 7. Different versions of WIN7 may have certain differences. If you are using Home Basic version, don't look down, because Home Basic does not provide file sharing function. .

Two: services that must be turned on

Right-click on My Computer or Computer—Manage—Services and Applications, open the service or use WIN + R to open and run—enter services.msc and press Enter to open the service settings

Select [Automatically] for [Startup Type] of the following services, and make sure [Service Status] is [Started]

Server

WorkstaTIon

Computer Browser

DHCP Client

Remote Procedure Call

Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator

DNS Client

FuncTIon Discovery Resource PublicaTIon

UPnP Device Host

SSDP Discovery

TIP / IP NetBIOSHelper // This is very important. Even if all other conditions are met, it will not work without this.

Three: basic settings

A: XP system:

Download XP LAN for one-click sharing, press the operation settings inside, and restart.

XP system file sharing: Right-click the folder to be shared, select [Share and Security], and check Share this folder on the network.

B: Win7 system:

1. Network and Sharing Center-click on the right side of the network to customize-set the network type to private network

2. Sharing and Discovery --- Enable network discovery, file sharing, and printer sharing. Password-protected sharing can be set to off.

3. Printer sharing across operating systems involves driver issues. To avoid trouble, it is recommended not to share printers across operating systems.

4. Access policy settings

Use WIN + R to open the operation --- Enter secpol.msc and press Enter to open the local security settings

Security Settings-Local Policies-Security Options

Accounts: Local accounts with blank passwords are only allowed for console login and are set to disabled.

This option is enabled by default. This is a critical step, because many people's computers are not encrypted. If the account you are currently using does not have a password, only the console is allowed to log in, and you cannot access it through Network Neighborhood (XP) or Network (Vista). So it needs to be disabled here.

Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts and shares], set to disabled.

This option is disabled by default. Windows allows anonymous users to perform certain activities, such as enumerating the names of domain accounts and network shares. This provides convenience and also brings potential risks. Some versions of the system (such as GhostXP Computer Company Edition) are set to enable for security reasons, but this way, other computers on the LAN will not be able to view your shared content.

Network access: Local account sharing and security model, set to guest only.

This option defaults to [Classic] for domain-joined computers and [Guest Only] for standalone computers. This is an auxiliary option for shared security. The computers in the small-scale LAN are trusted with each other, and there is no problem of illegal access. For convenience, it is recommended to use the guest-only method. The classic mode can be used to better define the access rights of shared resources. For larger LANs, this method can be used to prevent the shared resources from being illegally accessed.

Security Settings-Local Policy-User Rights Assignment

To access this computer from the network: Check if there is a local guest account or guest, and add it if not.

Deny access to this computer from the network: check to see if there is a local guest account name and delete it if there is one.

Four. Win7 system file sharing settings

Right-click on the folder --- share --- select the user you want to share with --- click the small black triangle arrow --- select from the drop-down menu --- everyone (all users in this list).

Note: Folders that have been shared before the above settings may need to be shared again before they can be accessed normally. For example, in the past, the folder was shared in classic mode. After changing to guest-only mode, access will cause an error and prompt no permission. The solution is to cancel sharing first and then share again.

ps: There is no need to turn off the firewall. After all, sharing is not an open hacker! Security is still important. When sharing, you can't discard it.

The firewall only needs to set the TCP ports of open ports 139 and 445, and the UDP ports of 137 and 138.

In addition, in the service, make sure that the TCP / IP NetBIOSHelper service is automatic, but it does not mean that this function is enabled under WINS. You must also get the TCP / IP settings of the network card. In WINS, open NETBIOS on TCP / IP. Enabling Gogou will only take effect! Without this game, even if all the work in front of you is done, it is still not easy to pass! Even if it is occasionally passed, it is temporarily turned on, sometimes not on and off, on and off, off and on! Just this If you tick it, you will be able to communicate steadily!

Also add

For those who have just played sharing, sometimes they can't find what window to open and which button to press to see each other. There is still a big difference between WIN7 and XP.

Under XP, everything is set up, click on Network Neighborhood to enter, or there is also Network Neighborhood in the left button in the folder of My Computer. However, due to various complicated reasons, not every XP computer can see the shared WIN7 computer here, the probability is only 50%. The reason is very complicated. If you do n’t see it, you can click the "View" workgroup computer on the left side of the online neighborhood. "If the WIN7 terminal is set, it will be listed in the" workgroup computer ", and then you can operate it.

Under WIN7, many people will directly click the auto-discovery button on the home network, and the location of the fate is only one, "The shared computer was not found". I have encountered a lot of such things. Do n’t work hard in this direction. This is The button for the home intranet between WIN7 and WIN7, even if both WIN7 may not be able to communicate, in vain!

If you really want to use it, just click on the "Computer" folder on the desktop. There is a word "Network" in the row of buttons on the left. If you click on this game, all the shared machines will come out.
