Thailand floods Japan PCB processing plant shutdown

Japan's professional foundry firm Kaga Electronics Co., Ltd. announced on the 12th that the company's PCB processing plant in the Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya was flooded with water from its factory building. The shutdown was carried out on the 6th of this month and it is still not yet certain when it will be possible to resume work.

Hoya, a well-known optical product manufacturer in Japan, also announced late on the 12th that the company is located in HOYALensThailand, Ltd, a subsidiary of the Hi-Tech Industrial Park in Daejeon. Although Ayutthaya Plant (hereinafter referred to as HOLT-A) has not been affected by floods at present, it is feared that there will be a risk of breaking the embankment due to its proximity to the embankment. Therefore, due to safety concerns, production operations of HOLT-A will be suspended until it is confirmed that it is safe. The production will restart immediately; HOLT-A mainly manufactures spectacle lenses.

In addition, Pioneer, the Japanese manufacturer of satellite navigation systems for vehicles, also announced late on the 12th that two factories in the Rojana Industrial Park had been shut down on October 8 due to water immersion in the plant. Currently, it is tentatively scheduled to continue work until October 23. As of today, the two factories mainly produce automotive products such as car stereos, car navigation systems, and car horns.
