This patent is an idea with a curved screen virtual button, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Edge family. In July of this year, Apple also passed a patent for OLED curved display, and the combination of several patents further suggests that Apple will use curved screen design on future iPhones.
However, this is the first time we have seen Apple apply for a patent similar to the Edge style. However, from the perspective of patent introduction, Apple's idea seems to be far more than the application scope of the Galaxy S7 Edge. From the picture, virtual buttons and multiple information display functions appear on the curved screen.
The patent also shows that virtual buttons for curved screens will include transparent buttons, lenses, haptic feedback components, audio feedback components, and other components that activate virtual buttons.
Fortunately, Apple's patent was submitted in 2013, and Samsung's curved-screen smartphones have not yet been released, so this avoids the issue of patent lawsuits between Samsung and Apple.
