AMS's latest AS7221 can achieve panel light color temperature accuracy of 1%

Today, white LED panel lights with no glare and uniform illumination are becoming more and more popular. The only drawback of office space or corridor parking is that color temperature is difficult to adjust accurately. However, with the well-known Austrian sensor company AMS launching the latest spectrally adjustable IOT Smart Lighting Manager AS7221, this challenge has been perfectly overcome.

Our latest AS7221 is the first in the industry to embed Three-color CIE XYZ color sensor technology, which can achieve accurate color temperature sensing and directly match the CIE 1931 color space. The color temperature accuracy of LED white light panel lamp realized by AS7221 can be 1-3%."

The AS7221 is the industry's first fully integrated, white light color temperature intelligent lighting manager. Manufacturers of white LED panel lights using the AS7221 design can now quickly incorporate high-precision CCT or Kelvin tuning into their IOT smart lighting fixtures.

The AS7221 is an IOT sensor platform that provides sensing capabilities such as air quality, temperature, presence or absence, and an I2C universal expansion interface.

The AS7221 Smart Lighting Manager is a fully integrated luminaire control system that accepts standard 0-10V inputs or IOT connectivity and network control via a complete smart lighting command set via wireless communication channels such as Bluetooth Smart, Zigbee or WiFi.

LED color temperature control is achieved through direct PWM output channels. Compared to larger discrete component solutions, the AS7221 not only provides a high-precision solution, but also significantly reduces development and system integration cycles.

The AS7221 is the first product of AMS's newly announced CogniTIve LighTIng family of intelligent lighting managers. It is available in a 5x5mm LGA package and can be easily integrated into luminaires or large replacement bulbs. It enables luminaire manufacturers to achieve smooth color temperature adjustment and precise color point tuning between warm and cool white LED strings. If it is matched with the AMS ambient light sensor TSL4531, automatic constant illumination adjustment can also be realized.

The four key features of the AS7221 are: 1) Tri-color XYZ color sensor to assist direct matching to the CIE color space; 2) Serial UART to facilitate easy access to standard networks and wireless clients; 3) Fully networked architecture and advanced The no-drive command set can be used to implement a wide range of advanced luminaire integrated controls; 4) The I2C expansion interface allows for IOT sensor platform functionality.

The AS7221 is currently in volume production with a 10,000-piece order price of $3.13.
