Recently, Agilent Technologies announced the launch of two reference design libraries for SystemVue. SystemVue software is the premier platform for communications and aerospace / defense system design.
The GNSS baseband verification library and digital modem design library support system designers and algorithm researchers to use instrument-level standard references in design simulations in the early stages of development. Before the baseband or RF hardware is completed, the satellite and communication system can be verified under a series of real damage conditions, thereby accelerating the development of high-performance systems.
Next-generation satellite design
The next-generation satellite positioning service requires the use of reliable satellite and telemetry systems, which can provide more redundancy, higher location coverage and security. To achieve this function, designers of military and civilian systems are exploring new receiver algorithms for use in navigation systems, including new receiver frequency planning and high-performance RF / baseband architecture design. The Agilent GNSS design library can help researchers develop new algorithms by providing researchers with GPS transmit / receive algorithm references, fading and multi-satellite constellation support, and Beidou / GLONASS / Galileo modulation references. Agilent RF simulators, test and measurement instruments, which are closely connected with SystemVue software, can provide a configurable multi-disciplinary design process for the entire development cycle of satellite navigation systems.
Daren McClearnon, head of the ESL design department at Agilent, said: "General purpose GNSS measurement software is generally optimized for large-scale wireless testing, and it cannot flexibly predict the design performance in damage and interference scenarios in the early stages of development. SystemVue software is used in simulation The simulation scenario incorporates intellectual property reference design, designer ’s DSP algorithm and RF architecture design, and real test waveforms, allowing designers to verify new concepts before the system design becomes hardware. "
Satellite and military communication design
When upgrading satellite communication systems to higher data rate systems, designers need more framing, synchronization, equalization, training sequences, filtering, sampling, and direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) support. In the absence of commercial tools, designers generally make their own toolboxes for simulation and test equipment.
The Agilent digital modem library can save the above process. It provides a simple reference model for signal processing-including loop bit error rate testing-for 35 digital modulation formats in satellite, military, and commercial wireless communication systems. The design library can also provide signal generation and measurement signal capture functions through the test instrument connection function of the SystemVue platform to perform hardware closed-loop testing for digital predistortion, DSSS communication, and bit error rate test applications. In addition, it allows different design flows (such as baseband and RF component designers, system architects, and verifiers) to use a common reference and can adapt to a variety of signal formats.
