Smart home devices refer to all home devices that can be connected to the network and can be remotely controlled via a mobile device. With the advancement of technology and the increasing price of people, smart home devices are expected to become more popular around the world. This trend will bring excellent opportunities for MediaTek and further expand the territory of the Internet of Things. The launch of these two new products not only laid the foundation for MediaTek's foothold in the smart home market and the huge business opportunities, but also enhanced the user experience of the smart home to a new level.

MT7688 product features:

- Built-in MIPS24KEc/580MHz CPU, 256 MB DDR1/2 RAM and AES128/256 encryption engine to handle more complex or data-intensive smart home devices such as IP cameras and home monitoring systems.

- Support for Linux platforms, the complete protocol stack helps to quickly develop applications.

- The current lowest power Linux platform Wi-Fi SoC consumes only 60% of the previous product.

- Support for MediaTek's Smart Connection smartphone app.

MT7681 product features:

- Available in a 40-pin 5x5mm QFN package, it is the smallest SoC that supports the IEEE 802.11n standard today, making it easy to provide network services for embedded devices.

- Support GPIO and PWM intelligent control, and provide UART and SPI interface for mobile device communication.

- Integrated power management unit, power amplifier, low noise amplifier, RF switcher to reduce module size and RF design capability requirements.

- Suitable for simple small appliances such as smart sockets, lighting fixtures and sensors.

MediaTek's smartphone app, Smart Connection, is an excellent solution, from lighting fixtures, smart TVs, smart door locks to other appliances, and a variety of smart home devices can be implemented on a single interface over a Wi-Fi network. Connect to each other. This app supports Android, iOS, Windows and Linux platforms, as well as smartphones with non-MediaTek SoCs.

"The MT7688 and MT7681 will help MediaTek to create a leading position in the smart home field. The smart home devices must feature ultra-low power consumption, energy saving and high integration, all of which are MediaTek's," said Cai Shouren, general manager of MediaTek's wireless China Unicom business unit. The technical advantage is also the key we can win from the market. In addition to product advantages, the market share of up to 35% in the home router market proves the position of MediaTek in the field of wireless connectivity, and the connection capability is to realize the operation of smart home equipment. Key elements."

MT7688 and MT7681 are currently in mass production, and terminal products are expected to be available in the second half of this year.
